This is a more detailed version of Sidney close up drawn in a more shoujo manga style, looking a bit vulnerable. It was interesting to draw her this way since I mainly focus on her being such a badass little catgirl.
Some sketches that could potentially be used as comic frames later for Sidney in the upcoming Project Rave relaunch. I’m still debating doing colored comics over black and white pencil sketched for the purposes of putting out a weekly web comic. I’m also debating creating colored print comics vs. black and white manga style ones.
Work In Progress of Sidney wielding two knives. Once this is finished I will posted a complete version and then a color version from photoshop.
Finally finished the color-work for this. Eventually I want to move on to doing backgrounds for these. This drawing is actually slightly older by a few weeks than my last one, but the color work on it is newer. I was able to create more detail and depth in the color tones and shading this time, especially in the hair.
The one issue I have with this is I hadn’t figure out what I wanted to do with Sidney’s tail fur until I did the standing pose. On the other hand I like this pose because it is very cat-like.
I also produced a grayscale version of this from Photoshop to see how it would hold up manga style. I have to say that I’m happy with the results.
